Richard attended the University of Virginia and obtained a B.S. in Commerce Degree in accounting. He also attended the University of Georgia school of Law for a Juris Doctor. His financial experience began in law school, when he worked for a New York stock exchange listed real estate investment trust. Richard joined the Firm’s predecessor firm, A.M. Pullen & Company, in 1977 and was a founding partner of Ross Lane & Company, LLC in 1986. As a tax partner with Ross Lane & Company, LLC, he has experience in all areas of taxation including real estate development, pension and profit sharing plans, and financial planning. He also has experience in a variety of industries, including audit dealerships, manufacturing, construction, investment partnerships, and law firms. Richard has presented numerous seminars and lectures within the Firm and to the public and professional community, including the Georgia Society of CPA’s annual Tax Forum and the State Bar of Georgia’s annual meeting.
Richard’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), Atlanta Tax Forum, State Bar of Georgia Tax Division, and the International Association of Financial Planners.
